Q: Why did you choose to pursue a career in healthcare?

Pursuing a career in healthcare offered me the opportunity to apply my technical background in science in a more practical way in the clinic. It also allowed me to identify opportunities for innovation at the bedside, and connect with like-minded individuals through research.

Q: What are some meaningful extracurricular activities that you were involved in while at UConn?

I worked in Dr. Rajkumar Verma's lab through the Health Research Program (HRP) doing basic science research with a mouse model of ischemic stroke, which allowed me to do my first platform presentation at an international conference offered by the American Heart Association. I have also interned at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals and NIH NCATS, which allowed me to further engage with pharmaceutical research.
