Ananya Aggarwal

2023-2024 Health Professions Peer Ambassador

My name is Ananya Aggarwal (She/Her/Hers) and I am currently a senior pursuing a major in Molecular and Cell Biology on the pre-dental track.

I am a part of the STEM Scholar community, the Special Program in Dental Medicine, and the 23-24 CLAS Women’s Leadership Collective cohort. On campus I am very involved in community service. I am currently a Trip Director for Community Outreach’s Winter Alternative Break to Puerto Rico and am a Team Leader for Kids and UConn Bridging Education (KUBE). In the past I have served as the Trip Director for a Winter Alternative Break to Costa Rica and as a Trip Director for Honors Across State Borders. I have also volunteered for Math Motivators, Windham High School Tutoring, and Mansfield Senior Center in the past. Outside of community service, I am a member of the pre-dental society and have mentored through Peer Allies Through Honors and the STEM Scholar mentoring program. I also have enjoyed TAing for UNIV 1784 and EGEN 3200.

I have been very involved with research on campus in Dr. Xiuling Lu’s lab in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. I was a 2021 Holster Scholar, a 2022-2023 Academic Year IDEA Grant recipient, and am currently pursuing my honors thesis as a 2023 University Scholar.

In my free time, I love catching up with my friends over coffee and spending time outdoors or at the rec center. A fun fact about me is that I studied abroad in Italy this May!
