Allopathic Medical (MD) Schools

According to AAMC data from the 2025 Application Cycle, the acceptance rate for applicants to allopathic medical school was just under 45%. For the 2025 cycle, there were just over 52,400 applicants and just over 23,400 matriculants.

  • The average GPA for applicants to MD schools in the 2022 cycle the average GPA was 3.62; in the 2023 cycle the average GPA was 3.64; in the 2024 cycle the average GPA was 3.66; and in the 2025 cycle the average GPA was 3.67.
  • The average GPA for matriculants to MD schools in the 2022 cycle the average GPA was 3.75; in the 2023 cycle the average GPA was 3.77; in the 2024 cycle the average GPA was 3.79; and in the 2025 cycle the average GPA was 3.81.
  • The average MCAT score for applicants in the 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 cycles was 506.
  • The average MCAT score for matriculants in the 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 cycles was 512.

Osteopathic Medical (DO) Schools

According to AACOM data from the 2025 Application Cycle, the the acceptance rate for applicants to osteopathic medical school was about 63%. For the 2025 cycle, there were over 23,700 applicants, about 15,000 accepted, and just over 10,400 matriculants.

  • The average GPA for applicants to DO schools in the 2024 cycle was a 3.58
  • The average GPA for matriculants to DO schools in the 2024 cycle was a 3.63
  • The average MCAT score for applicants in the 2024 cycle was a 499
  • The average MCAT score for matriculants in the 2024 cycle was a 500

Dental Schools

According to ADEA data from the 2025 Application Cycle, the acceptance rate for applicants to dental school was about 51%. For the 2025 cycle, there were just over 13,600 applicants, almost 7000 accepted, and just under 6,200 matriculants.

  • The average GPA for applicants to dental schools in the 2025 cycle was a 3.53
  • The average GPA for enrollees to dental schools in the 2025 cycle was a 3.67
  • The average DAT AA score for applicants in the 2025 cycle was a 18.6
  • The average DAT AA score for enrollees in the 2025 cycle was about a 20
