Allopathic Medical (MD) Schools

According to AAMC data from the 2023 Application Cycle, the acceptance rate for applicants to allopathic medical school was about 42%. For the 2023 cycle, there were just over 52,500 applicants and almost 23,000 matriculants.

  • The average GPA for applicants to MD schools in the 2021 cycle was a 3.59; in the 2022 cycle the average GPA was 3.62; in the 2023 cycle the average GPA was 3.64
  • The average GPA for matriculants to MD schools in the 2021 cycle was a 3.74; in the 2022 cycle the average GPA was 3.75; in the 2023 cycle the average GPA was 3.77
  • The average MCAT score for applicants in the 2021, 2022, and 2023 cycles was 506
  • The average MCAT score for matriculants in the 2021, 2022, and 2023 cycles was 512

Osteopathic Medical (DO) Schools

According to AACOM data from the 2023 Application Cycle, the the acceptance rate for applicants to osteopathic medical school was about 56%. For the 2023 cycle, there were over 23,000 applicants and just over 7400 matriculants.

  • The average GPA for applicants to DO schools in the 2023 cycle was a 3.55
  • The average GPA for matriculants to DO schools in the 2023 cycle was a 3.61
  • The average MCAT score for applicants in the 2023 cycle was a 500
  • The average MCAT score for matriculants in the 2023 cycle was a 501

Dental Schools

According to ADEA data from the 2023 Application Cycle, the acceptance rate for applicants to dental school was about 58%. For the 2023 cycle, there were just over 11,100 applicants and just over 6,500 matriculants.

  • The average GPA for applicants to dental schools in the 2023 cycle was a 3.52
  • The average GPA for enrollees to dental schools in the 2023 cycle was a 3.65
  • The average DAT AA score for applicants in the 2023 cycle was a 19.7
  • The average DAT AA score for enrollees in the 2023 cycle was a 20.8
