Sahiti Bhyravavajhala

2023-2024 Health Professions Peer Ambassador

My name is Sahiti (she/they), a senior from Avon, CT majoring in Chemistry and Molecular Cell Biology and minoring in the Anthropology of Global Health. I’m on the pre-medical track and in the Special Program in Medicine, the Honors Program, and am a STEM Scholar! On campus, I am a coordinator for Kids and UConn Bridging Education (KUBE) and a staff member at the Asian American Cultural Center. In addition, I work at the Rainbow Center as a FAMILEE Mentor and as a tutor for the Student Athlete Success Program (SASP). My biggest commitment on campus is conducting research in an organic chemistry lab, which I did throughout the summer of 2023! Finally, I was a former UNIV facilitator and WOW leader because I enjoy working with first-year students. At home, I work as an EMT and part-time in a pediatrician’s office, especially throughout the summers and holiday breaks. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, exploring nature, and watching new shows.

I love activities that involve any form of teaching and mentoring. It’s incredibly important to me that we are constantly passing on our knowledge and creating a collaborative environment for everyone. On the flip side, I also value learning a lot — whether it be about the people in my life, random animal facts, or the different applications of the elements in the periodic table, I will always make an effort to be curious. As we continue through the year, I hope to act in both of these roles to make sure that we are all getting the best experience possible. I’m looking forward to meeting and working with all of you!
