Why did you choose to pursue a career in healthcare?

I have always enjoyed the thought of having my hand in enabling access to life's opportunities for people. I saw how medical care could do so for me, and that made me want to do so for others.

What were some meaningful extracurricular activities that you were involved in while at UConn?

Alternative Breaks through Community Outreach and Supplemental Instruction through the Academic Achievement Center

What were some challenges you have faced along your healthcare journey so far, and how have you overcome them?

The public nature of training in medicine makes it advantageous to be "thick skinned." Being able to take feedback that is constructive and implement it immediately is the best skill I have learned at medical school.

What did you do during your growth year(s) and what did you learn?

I worked for Teach for America for two years in Wilmington, DE.

What are some ways that you take care of your mental health and overall wellbeing?

Meditation (the mindful movement meditation), going to the gym (at least 30 minutes five times a week, cardio and lifting), and Concerts in Philadelphia

What advice do you have for aspiring pre-health students?

Persistence and sustained effort is key.

\What’s something that you wish you knew when you were in college?

Meditation and The Power of Now (by Tolle, it is a book) are key to good life experiences.
