Q: Why did you choose to pursue a career in healthcare?

I always enjoyed the sciences but wanted to apply them in a very social and personal way. Wanted to work with kids. Was looking for a career where I would also be able to teach.

Q: What are some meaningful extracurricular activities that you were involved in while at UConn?

1) Worked as a Resident Assistant 2) UConn Mentors (Mansfield Middle School Mentoring/Tutoring) 3) Martial Arts Instructor (childrens class)

Q: What were some challenges you have faced along your healthcare journey so far, and how have you overcome them?

Premed: Had to work on improving my GPA and making up for it in other areas. Medical school reapplicant. Med School: Personal growth. Having mentors and counselors telling me my aspirations were too extreme which made me realize that while advice is good at the end of the day it is our journey and career.

Q: What did you do during your growth year(s) and what did you learn?

Worked as a medical assistant/scribe in a family practice. Learned to work as part of a team (including situations where there was disagreement or conflict) while also getting exposure to the medical field through my work and interactions with patients.
