Q: Why did you choose to pursue a career in healthcare?

Like many, I was drawn to medicine by the opportunities to serve others, especially those from medically under-resourced populations. I continue to be motivated by the opportunities to support and advocate for patients and to promote equity in medicine and healthcare access.

Q: What are some meaningful extracurricular activities that you were involved in while at UConn?

I was really involved with Migrant Farm Worker Clinic at UConn, which reaffirmed my passion for medicine and working with under-resourced populations. I was also on the executive board of Global Brigades at UConn and went on a brigade to Nicaragua. This experience was instrumental in fostering my interest in global health.

Q: What did you do during your growth year(s) and what did you learn?

My program at UC Irvine is a combined MD/Master's Degree and I chose to get my Master of Public Health Degree at Columbia University. I absolutely loved my MPH year and felt it gave me an important understanding of healthcare systems and programs, which I look forward to implementing in my future medical practice.
