The Next Version of the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT) New MCAT 2015 is scheduled to be introduced in 2015 and is likely to be in place through 203. The Preview Guide for MCAT2015 has been released and is available for download. The new version of the test contains sections on Biological and Biochemical Foundations of Living Systems, Chemical & Physical Foundations of Biological Systems, Psychological, Social, & Biological Foundations of Behavior, and Critical Analysis & Reasoning Skills.
Undergraduate schools and the Professional schools are engaged in an ongoing dialogue regarding prerequisite course requirements that will prepare students for the examination. Competencies versus specific course prerequisites Colleges and universities and the medical schools remain engaged in the discussion of whether to advance toward a statement of Required Competencies rather than to continue with a formal listing of specific course prerequisites.
